THE IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING WHAT MAKES YOU, UNIQUELY, YOU!

Picture
Now more than ever we face extreme volatility and unpredictability. Within a matter of weeks, we have all needed to pivot our lives quickly in order to adjust to restrictions on our business, family and personal lives.

Those who know more about themselves will deal with these challenges better. Self-awareness is the key. Understanding our personal drivers allows us to proactively manage our thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

The importance of robust reliable data is the cornerstone of our fight with this pandemic. A focus on data collection and analysis allows us to make the best decisions for the health of our people and our economies. The same approach to data applies to individuals. We need robust and reliable data in order to build a deeper understanding into what makes us tick.

So, how can you collect data on yourself and discover what makes you, uniquely you? Gallup’s highly researched and very effective data collection tool, the CliftonStrengths assessment is the answer. It is based on strong long-term research and data analytics and it very accurately identifies each individual’s natural strengths. Over 23 million people worldwide have now chosen this tool to gain a deeper understanding of themselves.

Knowing your strengths provides crucial data that will improve the way you channel your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. The positive impact of this data is far reaching. It allows for more informed and better decision making, increased productivity, stronger relationships and improved wellbeing. In times of uncertainty it has been proven more effective to build on our strengths versus highlight our weaknesses.

What are the practical applications to a strengths-based approach during these challenging times? Speaking from personal experience, being strengths focused with many dominant relationship building talents I am energised by social interactions. In the coming months of change and restrictions I am proactively scheduling Zoom social time regularly. I can confidently predict that this will improve my wellbeing. Being empathetic I also know I feel a strong sense of fulfilment when I am helping other so it is crucial I schedule time to volunteer to help those around me. Your CliftonStrengths may lean towards accomplishment as an essential need so it will be vital you continue to achieve, even small goals, during this time of uncertainty. A daily to-do list might be the answer for you!

At NurtureLab we specialise in helping our clients collect their essential personalised data and then guide them towards developing a deeper understanding of themselves via their data. Through this deeper self-awareness our clients have a stronger foundation for effective decision making in challenging times of uncertainty and change. If you would like to be better prepared for those big decisions ahead sign up for our 60min Strength Coaching Zoom and we will include your CliftonStrengths assessment free of charge. https://www.nurturelab.com/book-a-consultation.html
